They are the lead. A flashing that has lifted, a valley that has split, a chimney abutment that was never dressed properly in the first place. It is why so many roofs get replaced when they only needed a day of the right work.
We are a family run firm working out of Camberley, Surrey, with a specialist lead team and the four roofing disciplines under one roof. Whatever we find, you get told plainly, and the survey costs you nothing.

Recent work
A cottage re-slate, done in the right order
The original slate had been patched so many times the patches were the problem. We stripped it back to the rafters, replaced the failed battens, ran new membrane, and re-laid in natural slate with a fresh lead valley. The chimney was re-flashed while the scaffold was already there, which is the only sensible time to do it.

No surprises, and no invoice that does not match the quote you agreed.
Survey
We come out, get up on the roof properly, and tell you what is actually wrong. The consultation is free and there is no obligation attached to it.
Quote
A written, itemised price covering materials, access and labour. If there is a cheaper approach that would still be sound, it is in the quote too.
Build
Scaffold up, roof stripped, work done in the order that keeps the building watertight. The site is cleared and swept at the end of every day.
Sign off
We walk the finished job with you, from the ground and from the scaffold before it comes down, and hand over what you need for your records.
